Ruapuna Track Day 2015

We are intending to hold a track day event so we can test our cars out on the track and thus avoiding the beady eyes of The Rozzers. I'm sure there are a fair few of you that relish the idea. 

It's not a race and we are certainly not out to damage our prized possessions. It is however an opportunity to set up carburation, trial new tyres for limit of grip, adjust shocks (if they are adjustable) etc. One thing is for certain, you will know more about your car after this event than you would driving around normal streets. 

The summer tends to be very busy with car club annual runs and our own holidays and social agenda so we have set a date leading into autumn. The suitable date offered by the Canterbury Car Club for next year will be Friday 10th April 2015. Can you please send out an invitation to your club members and ask them to respond to my contact details below. 

Although race overalls need to be worn The Canterbury Car Club will accept 100% cotton work overalls for track days. Helmets must be worn. Race gear can be purchased from vortexracewear.com and bcracewear.co.nz and palmside.co.nz. 

Please advise your intention to join the track day so we have an idea of total numbers.

See below costs and safety requirements. Even though not listed, to be on the safe side, you should also have a fire extinguisher. 

COST: 

$70 for Canterbury Car Club financial members (incl Motorcycle Canterbury, BEARS, CAMS) 
$120 non members 

All prices include GST. 

All fees payable at time of use. 

 All hirers must report to the Circuit Office situated in the control tower complex to sign on (including frequent hire card holders). 

 Track is open from 9:00am - 5:00pm. 

 Helmet and Overalls must be worn at all times on track. 

 Hirers must present current Canterbury Car Club Inc. membership card to get discount (or affiliated membership). 

 All testing and hire is subject to the Club's official terms and conditions, frequent hire cards are not transferable. 

 The drag strip is not available on multi-hire days. 

NO drifting is permitted on Test Days (specific drift test days are held throughout the year) 

 Non-compliance with rules will result in a ban for up to twelve months.
