Catch up with the updates from the team as they drive from Beijing to Paris
Geoff R reports in from Moscow
Apparently typing on the Russian keyboards in internet cafes is challenging as they are not "qwerty", not surprisingly. Hopefully we'll get some more detailed summary reports up from the Fiats and the Capri over this week.
A summary from Novosobirsk (Russia)
Another quick summary of the 3 days from Irkutsk to Novosobirsk from Geoff Ridley.
Our intrepid reporter reporting in from Irkutsk (Russia)
Some of our Peking to Paris people have been keeping us up to date on their blogs using their satellite phones. Geoff R is reporting in from an internet cafe and sums up the whole of Mongolia in these few words! See the full reports on the teams various blogs (Peking to Paris links page on left). Summary reports will be added here as time allows.
Day 12: Irkutsk to Alzamay
This proved to be an extremely challenging day with the roads more suitable for 4WD than the classic cars that our Peking to Paris expeditioners are in. Thank you Team Fiat for the updates!
Day 11: Irkutsk
The Peking to Paris expeditioners have a day off in this city to rest, recuperate and be interviewed on TV!
Day 10: Ulan Ude to Irkutsk
Our Peking to Paris expeditioners have started to make their way through Russia. Report taken from the Team Fiat blog (again).
Day 9: Border Crossing from Mongolia into Russia
This report has been summarised from the Team Fiat blog (you can see the full report on their website - go to the link page)
Day 2: Jining to Erenhot (near the Mongolian border)
The Saabs have reported in! Everything is going well and everyone is hale and hearty. Sandy adventures are approaching.
Day One: Beijing to Jining
The first full driving day has at last arrived and everyone is raring to get out on the roads in their classic cars.
Reporting in from Beijing (8-9th June)
News from Geoff Ridley and photo courtesy of Graeme Sharp (not that he knows that!). Don't forget to check out the individual team blogs (listed under Peking to Paris links page over there on the left).
Beijing updates (May 31st - June 4th)
After not hearing from our Peking to Paris participants for a couple of days, all of a sudden the reports are flooding in.
